Meribel - Rhone Alps, France

Snowboard, Ski

Meribel can be found in the Vanoise National Park in the heart of the French Alps. Together, the Meribel, Courcheval and Belleville valleys form the largest skiable domain in the world with an impressive 600 km of pistes for all levels.

In the Meribel valley there are four distinguished zones that provide accommodation, fun, relaxation and sports activities: In Les Allues (1100 – 2950 m) you’ll find the quiet French Savoie village which is connected to the station by the Olimpe gondola and is ideal for families that don’t want the noise of the intense nightlife. Transport to the station is free.

In Meribel Village (1400 – 2950 m), you’ll find first class cuisine, shops, terraces and a main square with popular bars and discos, and the best après ski atmosphere. From there, you can access the rest of the station and the whole of the Three Valleys.

Meribel Centre (1500 – 2950 m) is the largest village in the valley and it is always buzzing with people, day and night. It’s the nucleus of Meribel and is home to cinemas, restaurants and discos combined with the extraordinary architecture of the traditional wooden chalets and the stone and slate buildings. The lower part is home to the La Chaudanne neighbourhood and the Olympic Park, where many sports and leisure events, international championships and concerts with artists from all over the world are organised. The transport between the neighbourhoods is free.

Les Hauts has splendid panoramic views, a quiet atmosphere and cycling routes along gentle slopes. You mustn’t miss the Le Rondon Point tavern and their live concerts between 17:00 and 19:00. It’s Meribel’s most exclusive zone with hotels, luxury chalets and gourmet restaurants.

In Meribel – Mottaret (1750 – 2950 m) you’ll have the pistes at your doorstep and won’t have to think about walking to that first lift. The zone has an excellent snowpark.

The station opens its doors at the beginning of December, and if the conditions allow, it stays open until the last week of April. Meribel and its neighbouring stations have a complete snow making system so the conditions are good during the whole season, however, the chances of snowfall and therefore the best snow quality are higher from mid-January until the end of March.
